Words from TyGuy

I had never traded before your class. In fact, I had never really looked at a chart. And now I make informed decisions thanks to your ability to simplify what was before intimidating to me....(read more...).

Cole's Corner

Hello fellow Densters!

Mel asked that I write a bit about my trading
progress. It seems easier to write about this stuff in chat when I'm
feeling the emotion of the moment of either a good or bad trade, but both
because Mel has asked me to do it (who can say no to Mel? Who, I ask
you?!), and because I have benefited so much from the knowledge and
experience of others in the Den, I'll do my best here in the hope that
what I write and what I've gone through will be of a benefit to others.

To give a brief background of my recent trading history, I came back from
my Advanced class and was killing it, but one day I hit a brick wall, and
it spiraled out of control. I was feeling...(read more...).

Cindy's Story

For those of us who have dropped by the chat room, you know these are words to live by. I cannot tell you how much I look forward to logging in during the week whenever I’m free to listen to Thomas, Dustin, Gordon & Maxell46 as they describe in great detail the ins and outs of a particular move, what events led up to entering the trade, and how to exit with more than just hope and a new (bad) word in my already too colorful vocabulary. Even better is that they all agree simply because they are all following Monk’s rules. They not only make it look easy, but they actually SHOW you how easy it is broken down in easy to understand terminology with patience and good humor (I really love the...(read more...).

Kirbdog's Memoirs of an Novice Trader...

I walked in front of the room full of dozens of highly trained day traders at a Monk’s Den Advanced Monkinar with laser pointer in hand to tell the class how Iwould trade the 1-minute chart that glared at me from the screen…

For me in Southern California, that means that I would have begun trading
at 6:30am Pacific Time. Having a two year old and a wife who works full time as well, 6:30 comes way too early especially after a night of toddler broken
sleep.

So, I explained that most likely, it would be around 6:35 by the time I
would get downstairs to the computer. As the computer boots up and the charts and E-Trade Trading platform come up, I go grab a cup of hot tea and some...(read more...).

What a great way to start the year!!

I would like to take a minute to thank Monk, Mel and Thomas for setting up the Live papertrading chatroom this 2011 - what a great way to start the year!!

I have been trading since the Portland Monkinar and want to do this full-time as I have a great love for the markets and anything to do with them! Thank you Monk for opening my eyes to this great thing we call Intra-day trading and 3X ETF's =)

This live papertrading chatroom has been a blessing - it has been HUGE in helping me to pick up on all the small nuances involved in trading. The fact that Monk, Mel and Thomas would take their personal trading time and be willing to share it with us live is truly invaluable. For the cost of...(read more...).

What a Great Idea!

Well folks, what a great idea Mel/Monk/Thomas came up with to have a live paper trading chat forum for us all to bounce entries/exits off of!

I've been in there almost every day since it's been up and running and it's helped me immensely! I was doing great paper trading the ETf's after the boston advanced class, but struggled a bit at first when I went live, just couldn't get the timing down for my entries/exits, or would second guess my decisions at times when trading alone, but the trading chat takes all the indecision away when there's a group making the same decision to enter when you think to, not to mention some of the nuances you pick up on from monk. Really helps a lot and...(read more...).

The chat is where it's at...

If you really want to hone the skills you learned in the monkinar and get closer to becoming a full time trader you really have to invest in the chat. I have learned, and continue to learn everyday, so many little subtlties that I don't think I otherwise would have picked up on. It's an incredible tool and I highly recommend everyone taking advantage of it.

A few days spent in the Chat sessions would do wonders for you!

A few days with Tom and Monk can get you up to speed and give you the discipline you need and green days. Trying to figure out what you\'re doing wrong on your own can get expensive and frustrating. Once your confidence is gone the descision making goes downhill fast.

I\'ve been trying to get in on as many chat sessions as I can. I consider it the \" the cost of doing business\" and my business will be daytrading fulltime very shortly.

On paper ( using a base of $40,000 ) I am up almost $5000 in the last week including Tuesdays afternoon snoozefest. It was a slow go but I had $700 by 1 PM and was content. This is me being very conservative and being as realistic as I...(read more...).

That's when things turned around

From a personal view I can attest to the trials and tribulations getting to a point in my trading experience where I felt I had PAID THE PRICE before it all clicked and things started going MY WAY instead of into the Market or better put the Market Makers and Brokerages pockets...because that is the primary design of the Stock Market.

If I had been privy to the type of training Monk is providing I could have saved myself about a million dollars.

I find it funny when people decide they want to make a career change they will spend thousands if not tens of thousands of dollars to make that change only to enter into the same situation they just came from.

But when it comes to the...(read more...).

What is it that makes his money

I just wanted to say thanks again to Monk and to a successful 2010!!! Yes, I am yelling at you. I have been on IHUB since 2006 and have always tried to carry myself honestly in my dealings with others. Life has been both good and unkind but, I always am thankful no matter what may come my way because of my faith and belief in a God who cares about me and uses all kinds of circumstances to mold me into what he wants me to be and not what I think is best.

Who ever thought the pot could tell the clay maker how best to form the pot. When I was younger I thought I was a pretty cool pot. Now I realize that I am what He makes me and I give Him all the glory.

So why you ask am I sharing this...(read more...).
